313-349 Ilderton Road

Carvil was appointed by Tribe Student Housing to assist it with its revised plans to redevelop the land at 313-349 Ilderton Road to deliver 250 student rooms, 58 affordable homes and 1,526 of commercial workspace.  The scheme built on an existing mixed-use consent on the site.  In its role as public affairs advisor for the scheme Carvil arranged a virtual programme of engagement given the COVID-19 pandemic.  This included a development website, flyers and Zoom meetings with key stakeholders.  A planning application was submitted in May 2020 and unanimous consent was achieved from Southwark

Mulberry Student Village

Carvil was employed to assist King’s College London to deliver its plans for a mixed-use scheme on the site of the former Mulberry Business Centre, Canada Water, SE16 consisting of 770 student rooms, 4,490 sqm of office accommodation, 33 affordable homes and retail uses and high quality public realm.  Following active engagement with Southwark Council the scope of the project was widened to include the possible creation of a new campus for King’s on the adjoining former Harmsworth Quays print works.

257-283 Ilderton Road

Carvil was appointed by EQT Exeter to assist with its plans to redevelop the land at 257-283 Ilderton Road containing industrial floorspace and housing.  In its role as public affairs advisor arranged a series of consultation meetings with key stakeholders as well as a two-day public exhibition and a development website.

Linac House, Fleming Way, Crawley

Carvil was appointed by abrdn to assist it with its plans to redevelop the land around Linac House replacing the existing office building with three industrial units.  In its role as public affairs advisor Carvil produced and distributed a consultation leaflet and arranged a series of meetings with key stakeholders on Crawley Council.  A planning application was submitted in September 2022 which received unanimous consent from Crawley Council’s planning committee in April 2024.

Avonmouth House, 6 Avonmouth Street

Carvil was appointed by Tribe Student Housing to assist it with its plans to redevelop Avonmouth House in part 2, 7, 14 and 16 storey building with reprovision of employment floorspace at basement, ground and first floors, 233 student rooms above and landscape improvements and enhancements to Avonmouth Streeet. In its role as public affairs advisor for the scheme Carvil arranged a virtual programme of engagement given the COVID-19 pandemic.

KFC Site, 671-679 Old Kent Road

Carvil was appointed by Tribe Student Housing to assist it with its plans to redevelop the KFC on the Old Kent Road into a 267-room student housing development with ground floor commercial uses and a pocket park to the rear.  In its role as public affairs advisor for the scheme Carvil arranged a virtual programme of engagement given the COVID-19 pandemic for both these schemes.  This included a development website, community webinars and Zoom meetings with key stakeholders.  A planning application was submitted in September 2020 and unanimous consent was achieved from Southwark Planning Com

Chippings Farm, Cobham

Carvil was appointed by Burhill Developments to assist with its representations to Elmbridge Borough Council in respect of its Local Plan and how it might affect its site at Chippings Farm being designated Green Belt land. In this role, Carvil conducted a political audit of the Chippings Farm site as well as arranging a series of meetings with key stakeholders within Elmbridge Council.  Work continues on Elmbridge’s Local Plan that is expected to be adopted Autumn 2023.

Chatham Docks

 

Carvil is assisting the business operating at Chatham Docks in fighting Peel Land & Property’s plans to close Chatham Docks and save the 800 jobs currently based there. 

Leathams - 227-255 Ilderton Road

Carvil was appointed by Leathams to bring forward to create a mixed-use development at its distribution centre on Ilderton Road including commercial space that could be taken by industrial or warehousing occupiers and up to 255 residential apartments with associated open space.  In its role as public affairs advisor Carvil arranged a series of meetings with local stakeholders both within Lewisham and Southwark Councils and the local community both to develop the proposals  as well as arrange two two-day public exhibitions in December 2018 and April 2019 to present the plans and receive feed

Southwark Underground Station

Carvil was initially appointed by U+I to provide public affairs support to assist it with its plans to redevelop Southwark underground station to bring forward a mixed-use redevelopment over Southwark Underground Station containing new offices, shops and restaurants.  Carvil was engaged by Transport for London (TfL) when it took over the project to provide local authority engagement advice with both Lambeth and Southwark Councils on both a new station entrance on Hatfields and a land swap to deliver new council homes and improved community space around Southwark Underground station.  Carvil
