Carvil was appointed by Southern Grove to assist it with its plans to redevelop the industrial buildings at 7-15 Blount Street to create 43 new homes and ground floor commerical space in a 8-storey building. In its role as public affairs advisor for the scheme Carvil arranged a virtual programme of engagement given the COVID-19 pandemic. This included a development website, community webinars and Zoom meetings with key stakeholders. A planning application was submitted in October 2021 but following discussions with Tower Hamlets planners a revised application was submitted in November 2022 for a 7-storey building with 108 student rooms plus retention of the existing ground floors commercial space.  This application was refused by Tower Hamlets’ planning committee and is now the subject of an appeal.
