Carvil was appointed by Leathams to bring forward to create a mixed-use development at its distribution centre on Ilderton Road including commercial space that could be taken by industrial or warehousing occupiers and up to 255 residential apartments with associated open space.  In its role as public affairs advisor Carvil arranged a series of meetings with local stakeholders both within Lewisham and Southwark Councils and the local community both to develop the proposals  as well as arrange two two-day public exhibitions in December 2018 and April 2019 to present the plans and receive feedback. A planning application was submitted in May 2019 that received unanimous approval at Southwark’s Planning Committee in June 2020. The site was subsequently acquired by Barratt Homes who are marketing its development as Bermondsey Heights and are expected to complete construction in 2024.
