Carvil was employed to assist King’s College London to deliver its plans for a mixed-use scheme on the site of the former Mulberry Business Centre, Canada Water, SE16 consisting of 770 student rooms, 4,490 sqm of office accommodation, 33 affordable homes and retail uses and high quality public realm.  Following active engagement with Southwark Council the scope of the project was widened to include the possible creation of a new campus for King’s on the adjoining former Harmsworth Quays print works.

Carvil led a public affairs and stakeholder engagement programme highlighting the regenerative benefits of a university campus at Canada Water that led to university uses being included in Southwark’s update of its Canada Water Area Action Plan and a planning approval for its plans for the Mulberry student village being approved in 2013 which are now being marketed as the Scape development.
