Plans for London’s first pod hotel received a major boost with Southwark Council approving amendments to Elephant & Castle Projects existing approval for a hotel at 98-104 Rodney Road.  Partnering with hotel operator, CoDE Concepts, a revised scheme was presented to Southwark’s planning committee on 5th February substituting the 126 double rooms previously approved with 36 double rooms and 496 single pods, whilst retaining the new retail outlet and community space for mental health, the Arts Network proposed before.  The development provides generous amenity space for guests and will provide independent solo travellers with a new option to stay in London.

As public affairs advisor, Carvil arranged a fresh public engagement programme including a one-day public exhibition and meetings with key stakeholders.
